Tuning the Heart

Saturday, February 16, 2008, 9:00-4:30 cost: $75 (lunch included)

This day-long workshop will provide helping professionals and other caregivers with the opportunity to return to their center through Parts Work and spiritual practices, reducing burnout and “compassion fatigue.” Parts Work is an important tool in “Healing the Healer” because it helps us see and understand our own reactions to difficult clinical situations and to situations in our everyday life which lead to constriction and loss of energy. This work supports our capacity to develop awareness of and compassion for ourselves and others. Through understanding and accepting the parts of ourselves that are activated in these situations our system is able to find balance and healing. Practices of guided imagery, meditation, Zen-inspired Big Heart/Big Mind, and Dances of Universal Peace will support our work as we tune and open our hearts. Both individual renewal and increased effectiveness in helping others are the goals of this workshop.
